I believe what you wrote made a ton of sense. However, consider this, what if you added a little content? I am not saying your content is not solid., but what if you added something to maybe get people's attention? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is kinda plain. You ought to glance at Yahoo's front page and note how they create post headlines to get people to open the links. You might add a related video or a picture or two to grab readers excited about everything've got to say. Just my opinion, it would make your website a little livelier.
